4. Workhouse

Les Workhouse ont été crées officiellement en 1834 au Royaume Unis par le " Poor Law Amendment Act " , mais ils existaient depuis le " Old Poor Law " de 1601 .

C'était des lieux dans lesquels ont accueillaient des personnes dans l'impossibilité de subvenir à leurs besoins , Ils pouvaient y vivre en échange de leur travail , les workhouse avez donc pour but de venir en aide aux plus demunies , mais au fil du temps les residents y furent mal traité et une atmosphère de terreur s'installa.

Le but de tout cela était il y ait moins de pauvres au Royaume Unis par peur d'aller dans des " Workhouse ".

3. Edward Hopper's Biography

edward_hopper <--- Self Portrait ( Edward Hopper ) Edward Hopper was a American realist painter and printmaker in the 20th century. He was born on 22 July 1882 in the small Hudson River town of Nyack , New York State. He was die on 15 May 1967 in the studio near Washington Square in NYC , he entered at New York School for Illustators. He studied during six years at the New York School of Art when he was eight years old . Between 1906 and 1910 he was been in Paris , He visited a lot of european countries. In 1908, He began painting aspects of the native scene that few others attempted. In 1915, Hopper turn to etching. Between 1919 and 1923 he worked as a commercial illustrator before dedicating his time fully to painting. In 1920 , He painted his first in oil , then in watercolor. The film tells the story of Chiyo Sakamoto , who is sold into a life of servitude by her parents when she is nine years old.Chiyo is taken in by the proprietress of a Geisha House , Mother , where she works to pay off the debt of her purchase and the soiling of a silk kimono owned by a well-known geisha, Mameha , which chizo was blackmailed into defacing by the geisha , Hatsumomo. One day while crying in the street, the young Chiyo is noticed by the Chairman, Ken Iwamura , who bus her an iced sorbet and gives her his handkerchief . Inspired by his act of kindness , Chiyo resolves to become a geisha so that she may one day become a part of the chairman's life . Chiyo , now a young woman , is taken uner the wing of Mameha head of a rival geisha house. Under Mameha's tutelage, the girl Chiyo becomes Sayuri, the most famous geisha in all Gion , Kyoto. Hatsumomo becomes Sayuri's rival and seeks to destroy her; however, Hatsumomo ends up destroying herself instead after setting fire to the okiya. Sayuri, through her work as a geisha, is reunited with the Chairman, who she has secretly loved since she was a girl, although she is led to believe he has no memory of who she was before she became a geisha. Her prosperous life is cut short by the outbreak of W.W. II and while the safety of Sayuri and Mameha is ensured by the Chairman, they must endure a life of hard labor. After the war, Sayuri is reunited with Mameha, and they become geishas once more. The Chairman arranges to meet Sayuri, where he finally reveals to her that he knows she is Chiyo. He tells her that he was responsible for sending Mameha to her so that she may fulfill her dreams of becoming a geisha. Sayuri finally reveals her love to the Chairman, which she has been harboring for more than fifteen years. The film ends with their loving embrace and a stroll through a beautiful Japanese garden. There were many beautiful sets and costumes in this film

The scene takes place in a suburbs . there is a still on open window , and a man who is sleeping . The man named is harold Crick , and the Film tell the story of this man and his wristwatch ... Firtsly , It is 7:15 a m , the Harold's alarm clock rang and he goes to stop alarm clock . Secondly , He got dressed with his formal clothes and next he ties his tie. Thirdly , He goes in his bathroom for brushes hair teeth , he is so fastidious... methodical... and fussy ... The Harold's Job is Taxman , and he is single. It's life is simple ... But ... One day He hears a strange voice , this voice is woman voice... and she tells the Harold's life ... This is not strange ?
